Alliance Members:
It has been a long time coming but spring is obviously just around the corner. I say obviously, not because of the melting snow and the few folks that can be seen riding bicycles around town, but more so because we’re one step closer to the finals of the European Champions League, which as I’m sure you all know, has been whittled down to just eight remaining teams (four of which play in the English Premier League). Yes, European Soccer, along with the pending start of the MLS season, is sure signs that spring is in the air. Here’s hoping that the snow will continue to melt and we’ll be ready to begin our outdoor practices the week of March 31st, so keep your fingers crossed.
I do hope that you enjoy reading this very first issue of “Black and Blue”, the Iowa City Alliance Soccer Club’s E-News Letter. In each issue, you can expect information from players, former players, Alliance coaches, board members and volunteers. It is my hope that the newsletter will contain something for everyone, and serve as a way to connect with “you” the members of the Alliance organization. Please pay particular attention to the program information down the left hand side of the issue, as this is where you will find up to date announcements that pertain to current and future Alliance practices and programs.
I do hope that you will enjoy reading the articles in this issue, and I do welcome your general feedback, comments and suggestions that pertain to this issue, and future issues of our publication.
See you on the sidelines.
